How to Measure Your Pet (Harness, Crate, Cat Door)

Chest girth, neck, length, three measurements for any pet product order. Plus the cat-door rule of "shoulder width + 2 cm."

Pet harnesses are returned more often than human clothes, same fit issue, smaller animal. iPhone makes the three critical measurements quick (when the pet cooperates).

Po co to mierzyć

  • Harness fit (chest girth is the key number)
  • Cat/dog door width
  • Crate sizing for transport
  • Custom bed dimensions

Czego potrzebujesz

  • iPhone with Ruler AR
  • Length mode (pet may not stand still, Touch mode helps)

Krok po kroku

  1. Chest girth. Behind the front legs, around the widest part of the rib cage. Length mode: hold one finger at the start, tap on the phone at the wrap-around point.
  2. Neck circumference. Around the base of the neck where a collar sits.
  3. Body length. Base of neck (where collar sits) to base of tail. For harness back-piece sizing.
  4. Door / opening width. For cat doors: shoulder width + 2-3 cm. For dog doors: chest girth ÷ π gives the diameter; add 5-10% safety.

Wskazówki

  • Measure when the pet is relaxed/calm, stress measurements are misleading
  • Long-haired breeds: measure under the fur to get the actual body dimension

Częste błędy

  • Using the size charts without measuring, breeds vary wildly within "small/medium/large"
  • Forgetting to measure when wearing a winter coat or vest

Częste pytania
