How to Measure for a Picture Frame or Wall Art

Wall space, art height (relative to furniture), and the rule of two-thirds for centered placement.

Hanging art looks intentional when it follows three rules: centered horizontally on the wall, eye level vertically (when standing), and 2/3 the width of the furniture beneath. iPhone makes verifying these instant.

为什么测量

  • Center art on the wall (or above furniture)
  • Hang at correct eye-level height (~145-155 cm to center)
  • Match scale to furniture (2/3 rule)
  • Plan multi-piece gallery walls

需要准备

  • iPhone with Ruler AR
  • Length and Height modes
  • Bubble level for hanging

分步操作

  1. Wall width. Tap left edge of wall to right edge.
  2. Furniture width (if hanging above). Sofa, console, bed width. Art should be 2/3 of this.
  3. Eye level marker. Use Height mode. Mark 145-155 cm on the wall (varies with viewer height). Center of frame goes here.
  4. Frame center to top. On the frame: tap from center to top edge. This tells you how high to drive the nail (eye-level + half height + ~2 cm hanging wire).

小贴士

  • For gallery walls: leave 5-10 cm gap between frames
  • Above sofa: leave 15-25 cm gap between art bottom and sofa top

常见错误

  • Hanging too high, art floats far above furniture
  • Center misalignment by even 2-3 cm reads wrong
